Celtic symbolism celebrates holly as the king of the darker half of the year.

When the cold months come and most green leaves disappear, holly stays lively and fresh. Because of this, holly is a representation of style, dignity, and honor even in the midst of great challenge.

Okay, here in northern Minnesota, I don’t recall seeing any holly anywhere but I do remember it from when I lived in Michigan and I still hope to run across it some day when I’m out in the snow. And I love, love, love the evergreens are so beautiful all  year around.

I definitely see winter as a great challenge sometimes, but beautiful green and growing things go a long way to improve it!
